Pangiam Project DARTMOUTH

Artificial Intelligence at the Edge

Project DARTMOUTH is the collaboration between Pangiam and Google Cloud, named after the 1956 Dartmouth Summer Research Project on Artificial Intelligence. Project DARTMOUTH utilizes AI and pattern analysis technologies to digest and analyze vast amounts of data in real-time and identify potential prohibited items in carry-on baggage, checked baggage, airline cargo and shipments.

Project DARTMOUTH

Project DARTMOUTH, the collaboration between Pangiam and Google Cloud, utilizes AI and pattern analysis technologies to digest and analyze vast amounts of data in real-time and identify potential prohibited items in carry-on baggage, checked baggage, airline cargo and shipments.

The collaboration means that Pangiam’s National Security-grade technology and deep experience managing aviation security threats are boosted by Google Cloud’s industry-leading suite of AI technologies. Pangiam’s AI-based solution is built to Open Architecture standards and is interoperable with hardware and equipment in a “plug and play” manner, allowing security operations to be transformed quickly through advanced software.

How it Works

Features & Benefits

  • We believe that open technology is good for everyone. Our solution runs on open platforms and open software allowing integration and interoperability with any security technology irrespective of manufacturer. This means our capabilities can scale to include analysis of and integration of data from security screening technologies across the checkpoint and further field. Open source gives you the flexibility to deploy and, if necessary, migrate critical workloads across or off public cloud platforms.
  • We deploy our software and Machine Learning models on disconnected edge devices. We are bringing powerful capabilities to the frontline where speed and accuracy are critical. With the exponential growth of connected devices at airports, combined with a demand for privacy/confidentiality, low latency and bandwidth constraints, AI models trained in the cloud need to be run at the edge to provide next generational capabilities. Powered by Google Cloud’s latest Edge devices, we deliver high performance in a small physical and power footprint, enabling the deployment of high-accuracy AI at the edge.
  • We transform end users’ ability to use image data in other ways, allowing powerful data mining and aggregation of data to identify threats not previously detectable to individual security officers.
  • AI and ML is core to our solution meaning our software models continually improve over time to meet your specific and evolving needs. This removes the risk of it becoming outdated and redundant.
